Mrs. Davis arrived in Arizona back in September of 1984. She was born in that notoriously famous small town in South Dakota named Emery; you know the place, right! Ever cheerful, always ready to give a helping hand to a neighbor, student, and friend. Children love her because they can sense her genuine love for them and they know she really does care about them. The parents love her because, I think it is that smile, or maybe it is the warm hug and secure embrace that is so contagious with Mrs. Davis. It is said that some people liven the place up when they leave the room, but for Mrs. Davis, she brings the place alive with her contagious excitement, willingness to give her all when she enters.
OBJECTIVE
I have been a music educator for most of my adult life. Teaching in the public and private educational school system, as well as private lessons have given me a great appreciation for what music is capable of accomplishing in the life of an individual. Many of my previous students are all grown up now and have children of their own who are ready to learn how to play a piano, guitar, recorder or any other instrument. It's exciting to be able to teach these kids as well as anyone who comes to me with the willingness to take on the challenges and disciplines incorporated in learning these instruments. My objective is to teach beginning and intermediate piano lessons, beginning guitar lessons, and beginning recorder lessons. These lessons are taught in private lessons at the individuals homes (child only no adult lessons at private residence), Studio South in one-on-one lessons and music appreciation classes where there are several students in a class at once. In addition to the above my preference is to start and teach students as early as six years of age.
WHATS FUN GOT TO DO WITH IT?
We do have fun around here, but with that fun comes responsibility, action, and results. Mrs. Davis is very aware of the need for an intelligently designed lesson plan for each individual when it comes to tutoring the young minds that will one day go on to become our future leaders. A future that lies in the hands of every adult who have the great fortune to inspire, teach, and instruct those very leaders now in the present. Every adult student being taught by Mrs. Davis will be required to have fun as well. It's part of the game plan. The whole atmosphere is better off when everyone is relaxed, enjoying the moment, and learning - all at the same time and remain focused on the reason for the lessons in the first place. The more welcoming the learning environment is, the less time it will take to learn a skill set by the individual, and the less stress it will be for the students, teachers, and parents.
TEAMWORK
Mrs. Davis is also studied in the art of teamwork. Teamwork is not accidental, it is part of the plan. The parents, students, and teacher must act as one. With one goal in mind and that is to "take complete advantage of the allotted time given to the student now to accomplish the appointed purposes for later". Rather that chosen purpose be piano, guitar, or recorder lessons. Without that cooperation Mrs. Davis has learned not from a book, but from her participation in leadership development and from years of experience. The parent's input as well as the child's output means a lot in the hours away from the lessons given by the teacher. I need your help in developing your child's skill set. We are a team! With most parents this will not be a problem. For those of you who may think that the time spent with me is all that is needed to develop the skill set necessary for your child's growth, I ask each of you to become part of the team together with your child and myself. Together we will be able to maximize your child's time spent with me. I know each of you want that and so do I.
